Blueberries are just one of the main super fruits that we all should be eating regularly. Dark colored berries and fruit usually contain multiple nutrients and antioxidants, but blueberries top the list when it antioxidants.

Blueberries have a good amount of vitamin C and antioxidants that help fight free radicals that could cause cancer. Eating blueberries helps to boost your immune system so you will be sick less often.

Blueberries contain about 24% of the suggested daily requirement of vitamin C. We all know vitamin C is good for our immune system. 1 cup of blueberries will provide the 24% of the daily dose of vitamin C.

Weight Loss

Blueberries are a good source of fiber. Many people don’t think of fruit as a source of fiber but many fruits contain fiber and blueberries are no exception. Fiber keeps you regular and is good for the gut, it also helps to reduce appetite which aids in weight loss.


So as this flu season approaches try a handful of blueberries and look for new blueberry recipes that use fresh blueberries you can try. Fresh blueberry muffins or biscuits, blueberry smoothies, dried blueberries for salads or trail mix. Also sprinkle them on yogurt, ice cream, waffles, pancakes and more!
